R Shiny App to Integrate the C, N, P, and W Footprint Tools

On this page:

  • Overview
This presentation provides background on the carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, and water footprint tools and gives a demonstration of how the R shiny app can integrate all four tools together and can be used for studying synergies across footprints and for understanding how changes in behavior impact different footprints.

Impact/Purpose

The objectives of this research are to 1) create an example R shiny app to display interactive graphs of the C, N, P, and Water footprints using data from University of Virginia as an example, 2) utilize the R Shiny app for research purposes to better understand the synergies and trade-offs across the four environmental footprints. 3) utilize the R Shiny app to explore changes in consumer behavior and impacts of economics, and 4) provide a platform for incorporating and exploring social indicators.
