The Pacific Ecological Systems Division (PESD) is carrying out research on air and water quality as impacted by wildfire. This presentation is an overview of work being conducted in all three of PESD's branches including the coastal ecology branch, the freshwater ecology branch and the ecological effects branch. During the 2020 Labor Day fires around Corvallis, we sampled the air for particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10), carbon dioxide and ozone. Water samples were collected from local rivers and analyzed for heavy metals, nutrients and turbidity.
