Advancing Application of NAMs and Evidence Integration in Risk Assessment: Dosimetry is Critical to Exposure Alignment

On this page:

  • Overview
Conceptual constructs for source-to-outcome modeling based on aggregate exposure pathway (AEP) and adverse outcome pathway (AOP) frameworks can provide a mechanistic scaffold for evidence integration and application of novel approach methods (NAMs).  Dosimetry is the critical link to achieve exposure alignment across various experimental platforms and different inhaled agents.  This webinar will discuss the conceptual construct, the role of dosimetry models, and illustrate impact by selected integrated approaches to testing and assessments (IATAs).

Impact/Purpose

Invited keynote presentation to an international webinar series entitled "Using in silico and in vitro Approaches for Next Generation Risk Assessment of Potential Respiratory Toxicants".  Series is co-organized by the EPA OCSPP, PSCI eV., Syngenta and Unilever.  Goal of series is to foster needed interdisciplinary dialogue and provide education/training regarding inhalation exposure systems and novel approach methods for inhalation toxicity testing.  Audience includes assay developers and risk assessors.
