Manager's Guide to Coral Reef Restoration Planning and Design

On this page:

  • Overview
Coral reef restoration is increasingly being turned to by reef managers as a key tool to mitigate reef damage and promote ecological recovery. As the number restoration programs initiated by managers and practitioners rapidly grows across the globe, there is a simultaneous explosion in the number of technologies and approaches being applied by practitioners in many regions, creating confusion in the best methods and practices to use for restoration.

Impact/Purpose

The purpose of this abstract is to share information with the international coral reef science and management community, a new EPA-co-authored guide on how restoration planning principles and steps incorporate information on rapidly changing environmental conditions to arrive at resilience-based site selection and project design.
