Systematic maps and literature-driven AOP development -A Presentation

On this page:

  • Overview
Leveraging evidence based methods including systematic review and evidence mapping ensure rigor and transparency in a literature based chemical assessment. The challenge is integrating that information into evidence based frameworks so that all cause and effect networks are captured. Here we describe how leveraging evidence maps with Adverse Outcome Pathway (AOP) concepts can be used to derive expert-guided and data-driven frameworks for anchoring human health outcomes with mechanistic evidence.

Impact/Purpose

The goal of this work is to explore how systematic review methods (such as evidence mapping) and Adverse Outcome Pathway (AOP) concepts can be combined to develop and use non-animal test methods for predicting the toxicity of chemical substances in an evidence-based manner.
