This presentation provides an understanding of the basic concepts and principles of human exposure assessment and its application to risk evaluation. Exposure assessment is the process of measuring or estimating the intensity, frequency, and duration of human exposure to an agent present in the environment (EPA 1992b). This presentation also discusses information about the review of exposure assessment methods, which are the cornerstones of risk assessment/management. In addition, information about EPA resources for exposure assessment are also provided.
