Enriched housing alters the ventilatory response of male and female ApoE (-/-) mice to a single eucalyptus wildfire smoke exposure

This study shows that housing enrichment alters basic ventilatory function and pulmonary responses in male versus female mice and may modify the effect of eucalyptus wildfire smoke exposure. 

Impact/Purpose

This study describes the impact of housing conditions on the pulmonary responses of male and female atherosclerotic-prone mice and subsequent effects of wildfire smoke exposure. The impact of non-environmental stressors on health and risk are assessed.
