The Sediment Core Chronology project is a collaboration with northeast states and ORD to support lake biological criteria development. The article describes background information about the project, basics of paleolimnology, and current work on estimating the time represented by the bottom layers of the sediment cores in the dataset.

Impact/Purpose

This is a non-peer reviewed newsletter article for the Northeast Aquatic Plant Management Society, a non-profit organization focused on aquatic plant and harmful algal bloom management, policy, and research. This article will reach a diverse group of professionals dedicated to understanding the unique needs of aquatic plant management in the Northeast and communicating that knowledge to both the public and private sectors.
