Non-point source nutrient pollution in the US: Navigating from drivers to solutions
On this page:
This presentation will review the latest research on inputs, budgets, effects and management related to non-point source nutrient pollution at the EPA’s Office of Research and Development. Using examples of nutrient budgets at the national, regional and local scale, Jana Compton from EPA’s Pacific Ecological Systems Division in Corvallis will walk through examples about nutrient impacts using data from EPA information, including the National Aquatic Resources Survey, the Safe Drinking Water Information System, the Cyanobacterial Assessment Network, the EnviroAtlas and the National Nutrient Input Inventory to understand the impacts and implications of land use and watershed processes on water quality and environmental damage costs across the US.
