Environmental Geophysics: Basic Concepts, Applications, Examples, and Resources
On this page:
This presentation provides and overview of environmental geophysics to EPA’s Groundwater Forum. Geophysical methods most applicable to environmental applications are introduced. Examples of several applied geophysics research sites are presented which include mapping contamination, monitoring remediation, conceptual site model development, and groundwater – surface water interactions. Software tools and EPA’s Environmental Geophysics web site are demonstrated. Attendees should learn the wide applicability of environmental geophysics and understand what and where free geophysical content can be found and applied.
