Air Sensors Data Standards: A Critical Need for Interoperability

On this page:

  • Overview
The presentation is regarding the need for and utility of developing a consensus around data and metadata standards or air sensors in order to facilitate interoperability at the data level among the various sensors available in the marketplace

Impact/Purpose

Air sensors are becoming very popular and there are numerous manufacturers of air sensors.  Each device has it's own unique data output and thus analyzing output from mulitple manufacturers can be labor intensive.  Developing data standards for air sensors can allow for much easier interoperability and when imbedded with data quality information, allows for a better understanding of the data and how it can be used.  Any user or orangization interested in using data from air sensors would benefit from data standards.
