Mathematical Grammar for Toxicologists (and Other Scientists) - SOT 2024 Presentation

On this page:

  • Overview
Mathematical statements, including equations, formulas, and mathematical symbols, can be found in almost all modern scientific writing. Furthermore, the complexity of the mathematical concepts that toxicologists need to express (or read and understand) has increased considerably in the last decade. Unfortunately, not all toxicologists (or scientists performing research related to toxicology) receive lessons in “mathematical grammar” as part of their training. As a remedy, this Tiny Tox Talk will provide a list of best practices for mathematical writing and an explanation of why these practices are important.

Impact/Purpose

On Tuesday, March 12, 2024, Dustin Kapraun will make a presentation on “Mathematical Grammar for Toxicologists (and Other Scientists)” as part of the Tiny Tox Talks series at the Society of Toxicology (SOT) Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah. The presentation materials associated with this Sub-Product will be used for that presentation.
