aquamet R package

This is an R package that is used to calculate physical habitat metrics and indicators for the National Lakes Assessment and the National Rivers and Streams Assessment.

Impact/Purpose

This R package was created to allow National Aquatic Resource Surveys (NARS) Information Management personnel to consistently and transparently calculate physical habitat metrics and indicators for the National Rivers and Streams Assessment (NRSA) and the National Lakes Assessment (NLA). It assembles a set of functions that can be applied to field-collected physical habitat data from NLA and NRSA. Vignettes and documentation for individual functions provide detailed information on how to use the package to follow same procedures as those used in NARS surveys. Having all of this assembled into a single package will allow other outside users, such as states and tribes, to follow NARS processes using their own habitat data.
