On this page:

  • Overview
The Association of Clean Water Administrators (ACWA) has invited Robert Sabo and Jana Compton to attend and present at the 2025 CWA Cross-Program Workshop on July 22-23 in Rosemont, IL. The 2025 Workshop will focus on opportunities and challenges for administrators of CWA Sections 303(c), 303(d), and 402 in coordinating nutrient management and responses to nutrient pollution. Under a Cooperative Agreement between ACWA and U.S. EPA, Cross-Program Workshops are intended to bring together state, territorial, and federal CWA program administrators to discuss and share ways in which cross-program coordination and collaboration can be strengthened to more effectively and efficiently protect and restore our waters. The 2025 Workshop will include a session of EPA officials presenting federal new tools, technical assistance opportunities, policy priorities, etc. relating to CWA programs that address nutrient management and pollution. Among the topics discussed during this panel, EPA-ORD-CPHEA-HEEAD-IEAB’s Robert Sabo will present on Development and sharing of EPA’s National Nutrient Inventory and Jana Compton – Application of the NNI for understanding drivers and management of water quality.   State clean water regulators rely on these communications and opportunities to ensure that states can effectively implement CWA programs most effectively, efficiently, and in coordination with EPA and its regional offices under a system of cooperative federalism.  This travel is aligned with Pillars 1, 3, and 4 and Clean Water Act Sections 303(c), 303(d), and 402.
