Systematic review methods provide a structured framework for summarizing available evidence in a comprehensive, objective and transparent manner. They inform evidence-based guidelines in medicine, public policy, and more recently, environmental health. This presentation will provide an overview of the general principles, key steps and current best practices of the systematic review workflow and its application to human health risk assessment. Implementation of software tools which facilitate the efficiency of conducting a systematic review will also be highlighted.
