Interspecies Differences And Human Inter-Individual Variability In Tissue-Level Pharmacokinetic Parameters

On this page:

  • Overview
Assemble data base of relatively high quality measurements and perform analysis to characterize interspecies extrapolation and inter-individual variability in metabolic parameters for PBPK modeling.

Impact/Purpose

To refine the current “default” assumption that metabolic rate constants scale as BW3/4 both between species and among individuals, by using currently published data to obtain a best estimate for the extrapolation factor, an estimate of the uncertainty around that factor, and an evaluation of metabolic variability among humans.
