The 2007 Toxicology and Risk Assessment Conference

The Annual Toxicology and Risk Assessment Conference is a unique meeting where several Government Agencies come together to discuss toxicology and risk assessment issues that are not only of concern to the government, but also to a broader audience including academia and industry. The theme of this year's conference is Emerging Issues and Challenges in Risk Assessment and the preliminary agenda includes:

    Plenary Sessions and prominent speakers (tentative) include:
    • Issues of Emerging Chemical Contaminants
    • Uncertainty and Variability in Risk Assessment
    • Use of Mechanistic data in IARC evaluations

    Parallel Sessions:
    • Uncertainty and Variability in Dose-Response Assessment
    • Recent Advances in Toxicity and Risk Assessment of RDX
    • The Use of Epidemiologic Data for Risk Assessment Applications
    • Cumulative Health Risk Assessment: Advances in Approaches
    • Predictive vs Protective Risk Analysis
    • Biomarkers of Exposure and Effects
    • Health Hazards of Particulate Matter/Nanomaterials
    • Overview of Contemporary Issues and Approaches in Children's
    • Assessment of Microbial Risks from Drinking Water
    • A discussion session on IRIS: Recent improvements and changes

    Workshops: Exciting educational workshops are planned on the following topics:

A Panel Discussion Session on Federal Agency Toxicology Training Needs: New Faces and New Tools for the 21st Century is featured. In addition, an evening poster session is planned with specific topics that will be discussed in the platform sessions.
