EPA is announcing an update to Chapter 12 (Intake of Grain Products) of the Exposure Factors Handbook (2011 Edition). Refer to the About the Exposure Factors Handbook web page (under Downloads) for the latest information on the other handbook chapters.
Abstract
This update includes new information and factors on the intake of grain products that has become available since the Exposure Factors Handbook: 2011 Edition was released. The recommended values for use in risk assessment have been revised, as needed, to reflect this new information. This update includes recommended values for the general population have been updated using NHANES data for 2005−2010 and include some more disaggregated age groupings (for those under age 1 and for adults) than in the 2011 Handbook. This update also provides, for the first time, grain intake data for pregnant and lactating women based on NHANES 2005−2010 data. Recent relevant studies based on data other than NHANES are also summarized to provide additional perspective on grain intake.Impact/Purpose
This document is an update to Chapter 19 of the Exposure Factors Handbook: 2011 edition. Chapter 19 (Building Characteristics) provides information and factors needed to assess exposures that affect exposure in an indoor environment.Citation
