Coral Reef Restoration Planning & Design Workshop for the US Pacific Jurisdictions: Step 3 Orientation Webinar
On this page:
In Step 3A, workshop participants brainstormed an array of potential adaptation options appropriate to their restoration goals and specific to their reef locations. In this next step (3B), participants will think about the specifics of how those interventions can be achieved. In a two-fold process, Step 3B guides users in adding basic design details to each option, then incorporating climate-smart considerations to ensure that the interventions will be as effective as possible in the face of changing environmental conditions. The goal is to craft climate-smart versions of the the full array of options possible, to support rigorous evaluation and selection of a smaller number of priority actions to implement. Considering climate-smart design before selecting the actions to implement is key because effectiveness-potential is an important factor to weigh when making a final selection of interventions.
