EPA's Air and Energy (A-E) Research Program has supported some research historically in the area of wildfire impacts on ecosystems and human health. This presentation will provide a short snapshot of the motivation, goals, approach and findings on the research ORD-CPHEA is conducting on wildfire impacts on water quality and aquatic ecosystems.

Impact/Purpose

Presentation on ORD-CPHEA's research on wildfire and water quality for the U.S. EPA's Office of Research and Development (ORD) Board of Scientific Counselors (BOSC) Subcommittee (SC) for the Air and Energy (A-E) Research Program. The topic of this session is "Current Challenges posed by Wildfires" and Jana Compton will be presenting in the "Meet the scientist" session about Public Health and Environmental Impacts.
