Experiences and observations from my journey from academia to EPA

This presentation describes my experiences as an academic and government researcher, and provides suggestions for how academia can produce more "decision-ready science" and more "decision-ready scientists." There are two parts to this presentation. The first part is an overview of my research experiences over the past 10 years in the National Center for Environmental Assessment, covering subjects like atmospheric deposition, environmental change, and biofuels. The second part is a summary of my thoughts on how academia can increase the utility and impact of their work, how to prepare the scientists of the future, and career paths outside of academia.
