spsurvey R package: New options and changes for selecting and analyzing probability samples.

On this page:

  • Overview
The R package spsurvey is commonly used to select and analyze probability samples for monitoring programs. Users can select sites for a monitoring program for lakes, stream/rivers, coastal waters, wetlands or other ecological resources using spsurvey and the resource’s spatial information. We give an overview of recent changes to spsurvey not only in how to specify designs but also the addition of new design options for including legacy sites and ensuring minimum distance between sites. The analysis of monitoring data based on survey designs is now simplified, making it easier for users to compute estimates and confidence intervals. We discuss the benefits of these changes and flexibilities using a real-time demonstration with R code and provide further resources detailing these additions.

Impact/Purpose

The purpose of this presentation is to give users an overview of the changes to the spsurvey package, which is commonly used for statistical data analysis.
