Health Effects of Wildfires (Kaiser Permanente)

This presentation describes information on the occurrence of wildfires, provides a summary of the health impacts of wildfire smoke, and illustrates some resources available from EPA to educate healthcare providers and the public about the health effects of wildfire smoke. The presenter will discuss both knowns and unknowns regarding the health impacts of wildfire smoke, and define research questions that need to be studied in order to better understand and address health impacts.    

Impact/Purpose

The purpose of the presentation is describe the health impacts of wildfire smoke, and identify resources available from EPA  about the health effects of wildfire smoke. The presentations will also discuss important research questions that have yet to be addressed about wildfire smoke. The audience is the health researchers at Kaiser Permanente.
