Recent advances in critical loads of herbaceous species and understanding vulnerability to N and S deposition across the contiguous U.S.
On this page:
This presentation gives an overview of the results of the vulnerability of herbaceous species in the U.S. to atmospheric deposition of nitrogen (N) and sulfur (S). We found that many species are experiencing N and S deposition that is associated with decreased and increased probabilities of occurrence, that many of the species experiencing decreases are higher-value natives, and that the thresholds of vulnerability (termed "critical loads") can be associated with simply leaf-level traits.
