Enriched living conditions ameliorate the cardiovascular and behavioral effects of high-fructose diet and a single wood smoke exposure in Wistar-Kyoto rats

On this page:

  • Overview
This study showed that high-fructose diet cause deleterious cardiovascular and behavioral effects in rats, which were partially reversed by enriched housing. Modifiable factors like diet and housing also alter the response to air pollution exposure.

Impact/Purpose

This study examined the effect of living housing conditions and diet on cardiovascular function in rats and subsequent responses to wildfire smoke. The goal was to assess the impact of modifiable factors on cardiovascular health.
