Estimating the Acute Health Impacts of Fire-Orginated PM2.5 Exposure During the 2017 California Wildfires: Sensitivity to Choices of Inputs

Impact/Purpose

This analysis outlines how inputs into the risk assessment framework affect the quantification of the acute health impacts of wildfire smoke exposure. By showing how different sources of uncertain data influence the estimation of the health impacts of wildfires, our findings can help strengthen future health risk assessments, improve public health evaluation and management during wildfires, and prepare the healthcare system for future air pollution events.
