The Study Reporting Tool (SRT) Committee: An Update to the BP4NTA Working Group

On this page:

  • Overview
To encourage widespread use of the non-targeted analysis (NTA) Study Reporting Tool (SRT), the SRT Committee has developed several outreach resources and strategies. These include direct editorial outreach, informational/instructional videos, commentary articles in peer-reviewed journals, targeted surveys, and presence at relevant conferences and workshops. The SRT Committee is currently preparing a 3-minute instructional video in collaboration with Research Square, which can be posted to the BP4NTA website and social media platforms. In addition, the committee is planning an invited commentary article to be published in the Journal of Exposure Science and Environmental Epidemiology with a follow-up Special Topic Issue that encourages author, referee, and editor enagagement with the SRT. The SRT Committee is also developing a strategy to track SRT use in order to assess its impact in the NTA community, including the creation and deployment of a survey that guages current use of the SRT and attitudes about its utility. These efforts will make the SRT visible within the NTA community and provide opportunity for critical feedback.

Impact/Purpose

Developed by the Study Reporting Tool (SRT) Committee of the Benchmarking and Publications for Non-targeted Analysis (BP4NTA) working group, the non-targeted analysis SRT offers an easy-to-use approach for rigorous evaluation of NTA reporting practices. This presentation provides an update on the ongoing activities of the SRT Committee to the BP4NTA working group.
