Watershed nutrient budgets: Navigating from sources and costs to management and solutions
On this page:
This presentation will review the latest research on watershed and hydrologic unit code (HUC) scale inputs, budgets, effects and management related to non-point source nutrient pollution at the EPA’s Office of Research and Development. Using examples of nutrient budgets at the national, regional and local scale, Jana Compton from EPA’s Pacific Ecological Systems Division in Corvallis will walk through examples about nutrient impacts using data from EPA information, including the National Aquatic Resources Survey and the National Nutrient Input Inventory to understand the impacts and implications of land use and watershed processes on water quality and environmental damage costs across the US. Case examples of development and application of watershed nutrient budgets from Oregon will be shared
