Environmental Geophysics Overview, Research, and Applications
On this page:
This presentation to the ROCS-Net group provides an introduction to environmental geophysics. Environmental geophysics is defined with applications. Several examples of research results are presented including some of the latest innovations in EPA's environmental geophysics portfolio. Case studies include geophysical investigations and the geophysical response for contaminant mapping, active and passive remediation monitoring, geophysics to aid conceptual site model development, groundwater - surface water interactions related to mine influenced groundwater, detecting and mapping the freshwater - saltwater interface using surface geophysical methods, and available online resources via EPA's environmental geophysics web site.
