Waterborne Infection Risk Evaluation (WIRE): Cherokee Nation, September 2018

Summary of RARE research effort with Region 6 conducted in 2018 to investigate the occurence of waterborne and related infections among residents of the Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma. Saliva samples were collected from 230 participants and tested for antibody responses to several waterborne and other infections. Findings indicated higher antibody prevalence for several common infections compared to previous studies. Results will be presented to Cherokee Nation Institutional Review Board and other stakeholders
