Impact/Purpose

This chapter provides a practical overview of the legislative and regulatory acts that govern regulation of halogenated organic chemicals.  Testing procedures and guidelines for neurological and developmental toxicants are briefly summarized.  In addition, discussion of complex science issues, including the risk assessment of chemical mixtures, inhalation exposures, and lactational exposures are explored as research needs and future directions.
