R-based Tools to Perform Quality Control Procedures, Summarize, and Visualize Continuous Sensor Data

On this page:

  • Overview
Overview presentation of two R Shiny applications. One application is geared towards quality control and consistent formatting of continuous sensor data. The other application allows users to summarize and visualize their continuous sensor data. The presentation provides examples from Regional Monitoring Networks in streams and lakes.

Impact/Purpose

The purpose of this presentation is to describe the R Shiny applications that can be applied to any type of continuous monitoring sensor data. The presentation focuses on examples from stream and lake Regional Monitoring Networks. The first application described is ContDataQC, which can be used to perform a variety of quality control actions on continuous sensor data. Additionally, the application formats that data to allow comparison and analysis with other datasets in the same format. The second application is ContDataSumViz, which can be used to summarize and visualize data from continuous sensors. The presentation shows examples of graphs and summaries generated from this application.
