An Air Resources Advisor Deployment to the 2024 Idaho Wildfires – Engagement with Wildfire Operations and Community Outreach

This presentation is on the agenda for 2024 Cleaner Air, Safer Power (CASPR) Workshop: Indoor Air Quality in Emergencies on Wednesday September 25, 2024, 1-3 PM EDT. This workshop will focus on activities and support related to emergencies and indoor air quality (IAQ) that EPA provides to communities through direct outreach and external partner engagement. Participants will learn how EPA headquarters and regions respond to emergencies that affect IAQ, including through external partner engagement. Participants will share reflections and lessons learned from previous EPA responses that have involved IAQ issues. Leaders in the areas of IAQ, public affairs, community engagement, and outreach will highlight their experiences with addressing IAQ issues and promoting community resilience before, during, and following emergencies. Iiames will present lessons learned on an Air Resource Advisor deployment to the Limepoint Fire in western Idaho in July-August, 2024.
