The objective of this project was to develop and calibrate an UrbanSim model for the Asheville, NC region (“Land of Sky”) and use that model to produce simulations of urban change under varying population scenarios. The model code and simulation results will be made available to staff of the Land of Sky Regional Council (LOSRC), EPA, and other stakeholders or interested parties identified by EPA.

Impact/Purpose

This report presents the results of UrbanSim simulations of alternative scenarios performed for the Land of Sky region. It begins with a short description of the objective and deliverables of the project, followed by a summary of data sources, and then by a brief explanation of the methodology that was used. It concludes with a description of simulated scenarios and analyzes simulation results.
