Once BMDS Online is populated with all models from previously existing desktop version of BMDS (FY23 BMDS sub-product) and new continuous Bayesian model averaging (CMA) and continuous nested models under development (FY24 BMDS sub-product), the BMDS team will focus on creating a new desktop version of BMDS that will be a "spin-off" of BMDS Online (FY25 sub-product). This FY25 sub-product will replace the existing BMDS 3.3 Excel desktop version (FY22 BMDS sub-product).  It will be a stand-alone executable with no reliance on outside (e.g., Microsoft Office) programs.  To the extent possible, it will be designed to work in multiple operating systems, including Windows, Mac and Lotus.

Impact/Purpose

The purpose of BMDS Desktop is to provide users an option to run the browser-based version of BMDS locally on their own computer so that sensitive data (confidential business information, etc.) can be modeled with BMDS.  BMDS Desktop has the full dose-response functionality for use in human health risk assessments that BMDS Online has.
