The Strength of Weak Ties

The purpose of this work is to provide a letter commenting on an Issues article titled “How to Catalyze a Collaboration,” by Annamaria Carusi, Laure-Alix Clerbaux, and Clemens Wittwehr. A copy of the article, published in the journal’s Summer 2023 edition, is attached. The article describes technical and social challenges associated with bringing together a collaborative using non-traditional approaches during the Covid-19 pandemic. The collaboratives (nicknamed Ciao) were building Covid-19 pathways using the AOP framework and AOP wiki as the collaborative interface.

Impact/Purpose

The sub-product is a forum letter response to the article entitled, "How to Catalyze a Collaboration" and describes opinion in relation to the author's experiences bringing together the CIAO collaborative during the Covid-19 pandemic using the AOP Framework as the integrative construct.
