The effect of residential proximity to brownfields, highways, and heavy traffic on serum metal levels in the Detroit Neighborhood Health Study
Brownfields can contribute significant amounts of contaminants to communities. However, the impact of brownfields on serum metals in urban communities has not been fully evaluated. In this sub-product we evaluated the impact of residing near (< 200m) from a brownfield on serum metals measured in a urban community of Detroit, MI. We also evaluate the impact of residing near roadways which may also contribute to heavy metals exposures within these communities.
