Role of Transient Receptor Potential M3 (TRPM3) in the cardiopulmonary response of mice to extreme heat

On this page:

  • Overview
This work describes the impact of extreme heat exposure on the cardiopulmonary response of mice and the role of transient receptor potential M3 (TRPM3) cation channel.

Impact/Purpose

This work describes the effects of extreme heat on health and well-being. Specifically, it shows that heat causes acute cardiovascular and ventilatory changes that are mediates by a heat sensor called transient receptor potential M3 channel. These data provide biological plausibility to extreme heat-related effects.
