PFAS Exposure Sources and Pathways

On this page:

  • Overview
Current research to identify important sources and pathways for exposure to per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) will be highlighted.  Results of this research demonstrate that PFAS continue to be manufactured and used, different PFAS are associated with different media in the ambient and residential environments, and though targeted panels of PFAS identify the most abundant PFAS in most samples, non-targeted analysis can support monitoring for the large and diverse class of emerging PFAS.
