Wildfire and One Health

Guest lecture to Texas Tech School of Veterinary Medicine graduate class, Course Title: SVM 6302 Applied One Health and Public Policy as requested by Dr. Jon Thompson, Ph.D.  This presentation goes over One Health at EPA, EPA's role in One Health, EPA's mission, and the multifaceted scientific and One Health issues associated with wildfires. Wildfire is an applied example of a real-world, multifaceted One Health problem that must be addressed from multiple angles and by different professions working together. 

Impact/Purpose

This presentation goes over One Health at EPA, EPA's role in One Health, EPA's mission, and the multifaceted scientific and One Health issues associated with wildfires. It provides students with an applied example of a real-world, multifaceted One Health problem that must be addressed from multiple angles and by different professions working together. It presents EPA as a One Health agency addressing this emerging issue from a One Health perspective.
