Neurophysiology Data from Developmental Emamectin Exposure (EB5)

This is a data set from evoked potentials recorded in adult male Long-Evans rats after developmental exposure to emamectin. It contains data from the following responses: compound nerve action potentials from tail nerve, somatosensory responses recorded from the cortex and cerebellum, and brainstem auditory evoked responses. Body weight measures are also included.

Impact/Purpose

The goal of this work is to develop linkages between the in vitro and in vivo tests used to screen for developmental neurotoxic effects. This involves understanding common biological processes involved in mechanistic pathways for testing adverse effects. We observed effects in neuromuscular function and auditory reactions after developmental treatment with emamectin. This work followed up the observations with neurophysiological evaluation of peripheral nerves, somatosensory, and auditory function. These measures will help localize the neuroanatomical pathways that may be involved in the behavioral changes. Ultimately, this will allow focused mechanistic/proteomic work to be completed, assisting with providing linkages to in vitro changes and the development of putative AOPs..
