pybmds + BMDS Desktop: Installation and Overview

On this page:

  • Overview
Presentation on the installation of pybmds and BMDS Desktop and how to conduct dose-response analyses in both.   BMDS Desktop is a Python-based version of BMDS Online that enables offline use of BMDS and replaces the Excel-based BMDS 3.3. It is intended for users with increased data privacy or sensitivity concerns that prevent them from being able to run BMD analyses on EPA infrastructure (https://usepa.github.io/BMDS/).   pybmds enables users to run dose-response analyses in Python, along with running high-throughput or batch analyses of thousands of individual datasets. The pybmds package is intended for the users comfortable writing software scripts (https://pypi.org/project/pybmds/).

Impact/Purpose

After attending this training workshop, participants will be able to use download, install, and use pybmds and BMDS Desktop for conducting dose-response analyses in both.  Users that wish to use a user interface to conduct their dose-response analyses will be instructed on how to use BMDS Desktop (https://usepa.github.io/BMDS/).  Users that wish to run dose-response analyses in Python, opening up advanced modeling capabilities such as high-throughput batch analyses or changing default modeling parameters, will be instructed on the use of pybmds (https://pypi.org/project/pybmds/).
