This book is an outgrowth of the Guidelines for the Health' Assessment of Suspect Developmental Toxicants. n that document, several general areas of esearch were identified that were needed to fill data gaps or to reduce uncertainties associated with estimating risks for human developmental effects ue to exposure to hazardous substances. his book focuses on the research needs for risk assessment indicated in the Guidelines, and includes an update and review of each area. ach chapter ocuses on the specific issues within a particular area that hold promise in addressing uncertainties for risk assessment and regulatory decision-making. he document addresses pharmacokinetics, behavior, epidemiology, tructure-activity relationships, quantitative risk assessment, and statistical nalysis. omprehensive listing of relevant literature is included.
